Cross Country

On Friday 5th May, Musgrave Hill SS will be holding its annual Cross Country event on a course around the school’s oval and surrounding grounds. Race distances are approximately 400m – 700m for Prep, Year 1, 2 & 3 students. For students in Year 4 (born 2008), the 10 Years Age Group (born in 2007), 11 Years Age Group (born in 2006) and 12 Years Age Group (born in 2005), distances will be (roughly) 1.5 – 2.5kms. See below for timing of events (approx times only).

All students are required to participate in this event and house points will be awarded. Students requiring medication (e.g. Ventolin, Epipens) need to ensure they have it with them.

On the day, students will go to their classrooms as normal. Class teachers have been provided with times that each age group/year level will be required on the oval for marshalling. Once each race has been completed, each class will remain on the oval to support & cheer on remaining competitors. At the completion of all races, a short presentation ceremony will follow to recognize students’ achievements. The carnival should be all completed and wrapped up by first break – 11:00am.

If you feel your child is unable to compete in this event, please inform your child’s classroom teacher via written consent prior to the event.

This event is also a fundraiser, sponsorship forms have been sent  home.
